Soaked it for a minute and tied it on before our morning hike—my lab actually kept panting less for a good hour after. The fabric held the water without dripping all over the car seat, which was a nice surprise.

Tied this on my dog before a hot afternoon hike and the cooling effect from the soaked fabric actually lasted a solid hour, which was perfect for the summit stretch. He didn't try to scratch it off once, and it made for a great photo up top.
