My pup actually poses for the summit selfie now instead of panting through it, and the soak-and-tie trick really does bring their temperature down noticeably on a hot climb. The fabric holds water long enough for a solid hour of trail time before needing a re-dunk.

Soaked it for a minute before an afternoon walk and the cooling effect on her neck really did last the whole loop. It also made for a cute summit selfie moment when she shook her head with it on.
