Laredo Bandana

Soaked it in a stream before a hot afternoon hike and the cooling effect actually lasted longer than I expected through the switchbacks. My pup kept it on without fussing, and the fabric dried quickly afterward so it didn't stay soggy in the car.

Took this up to 9,000 feet and the soaked bandana kept my pup comfortable through the whole switchback section, even in the afternoon sun. The fabric holds water surprisingly well without dripping everywhere, and the tie stayed snug the entire descent.

My dog actually left his on for the whole mile back to the car, which never happens — the soak-and-tie design is dead simple. It's not a miracle cure for heat, but it definitely took the edge off his panting on the exposed ridge.
